SIGN LANGUAGE
Between 1989-1992 I was on contract with the New Yorker Magazine to create a series of photographs about the city that would be used in the Talk About Town section of the magazine. During that time period over 100 black and white photographs were published.
As the project evolved the imagery began to incorporate words found throughout the city. In 2014, twelve years after the original project was completed, I began to reprise the series in color. The efforts of this work appear here.
Sign Language is part of my ongoing Urban Anthropology project.
