Palm Sunday celebrations in Barcelona vary between neighborhoods. I came across a remarkable local festival that was not promoted to the public prior, and seemed to be for local inhabitants to either partake in or enjoy.
It is traditional for families to go out into the streets, well-dressed, carrying palm branches, palm leaves, or laurel branches, symbols that represent the joy with which Jesus was received.
