ON BEALE STREET
In 2018, while working on the exhibition project OUTSIDE THE LORRAINE: A Photographic Journey to a Sacred Place in Memphis I would often walk to the National Civil Rights Museum via Beale Street, the famous strip of Blues Bars and Tourist Shops. On one particularly special day there was a confluence of street performers and a Quinceaneras celebration. Since then I continue to visit the famous strip every time I am in Memphis, the most recent being in April of 2023.
